A native of France, Ms. Costa studied violin, classical dance, theater and circus before singing. She then completed her Master’s
degree in Vocal Performance at the Conservatory Ecole Normale of Music in Paris. She also completed her Post-Graduate degree in Paris Conservatory of Music (CNSM). She studied with Susan
McCulloch, Raphaël Sikorski, Elène Golgevit and Mireille Alcantara and worked with stage directors and coachs such as Elaine Kidd, Mireille Larroche, Anne Le Bozec or Robin Bowman. She has been
selected to participate in Master Classes with Ruggero Raimondi, Dame Felicity Lott, François Leroux, Vincent Le Téxier, Susan Bullock and Ann Murray. Since 2017, she has been selected in many
Residencies as a member of Academy of Festival of Aix-en-Provence with ENOA (European
Network of Opera Academies) and MEDINEA (MEDiterranean INcubator of Emerging Artists). She won the 2007 Irène
Jaumillot Price in Bézier’s International Vocal Competition in France. The same year, she has been also Laureate of the CNIPAL in Marseille (short programm for young singers) and has been
honored with a Finalist place in Nei Stëmmen International Vocal Competition in Luxembourg in 2012.
Ms. Costa made her professional debut, as Martine (Le Médecin Malgré Lui), Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte), La Contessa (Le Nozze di
Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così Fan Tutte). She also performed the role of Silvia in Spagnolo's contemporary opera La Fée, and sang with Hermarque’s Quartet in Musique des Chapelles’s
Festival.
In 2015 and 2016, she has been a member of Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Germany. She sang Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and again
Fiordiligi. She also performed in concerts with the Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstad's Orchestra. In France, she sang Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) in concert version, Suzanne (Le Mari à la Porte,
Offenbach), Marinette (La Dilettante d'Avignon, Halevy) and Lucile (La Devineresse, De Lajarte) at Compiègne's Imperial theater. She was also Violentine (Ce qui plaît aux hommes, Delibes) with
the Frivolités Parisienne's orchestra in Paris.
In 2017-2018, she has been a member of Manhattan Opera Studio of New York City, and performed Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte). She made in concerts her Carnegie Hall and National Opera America debuts. In France, she was Sorceress in a participativ version of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and has been involved in European project's Orfeo et Majnun at Aix-en-Provence's Festival. She sang also in concerts with the pianists Nino Pavlenishvili and Phil Richardson at the Festival of Les Nuits de la Chéronne.
In 2019, Marine sang Ginette in contemporary creation Opera De-Ci De-là at the Festival of Aix-En-Provence. She performed the role of Pénélope, in the lyric show Opéraphone (nominated at the P'tits Molières), in Avignon's Festival at the Corps Saints's Theater. She also made her recital debuts in Les Rencontres de Calenzana's Festival in Corsica.
In 2021, Marine Costa have made her dramatical soprano debut as Santuzza, in the opera of Pietro Mascagni Cavalleria Rusticana, during the festival "Les
Rencontres de Calenzana" and in the convent of Cervioni in Corsica. She also signed, with this project, the artistic and stage direction.
The same year, she has founded Art'eCultura, a cultural and artistic association. She also is the founder, general director and dramatic coach of the "Lyric Academy Art'eCultura".
Meanwhile, Marine Costa engage herself between 2015 and 2021 in the association MOS, who offert concerts for people with Alzheimer’s. She has been the subject of a report about that in the emission « Extra-ordinaires » by France Télévision and signed an article about it in the famous "Opera magazine" of December 2018.
Starting 2023, she collaborates with International Festival of Aix-En-Provence to create and lied workshops to introduce Opera to a great amount of different kind of publics.
This season, she will also performed for the Festival on concerts with the French pianist and conductor Frederic Isoletta.
Marine Costa étudie le violon, la danse classique, l'art dramatique et l'art du cirque avant de se tourner vers l'art lyrique. Après une licence de musicologie à l'Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, elle intègre le Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris et l'École Normale de Musique, dont elle est diplômée en 2014. Elle bénéficie de l'enseignement de Susan McCulloch, Raphaël Sikorski, Elène Golgevit et Mireille Alcantara ainsi que de metteurs en scène et de chefs de chants comme Elaine Kidd, Mireille Larroche, Anne Le Bozec ou Robin Bowman. Elle participe aux master classes de Ruggero Raimondi, Dame Felicity Lott, François Leroux, Vincent Le Téxier, Ann Murray ou Suzan Bullock. Depuis 2017, elle suit plusieurs résidences au sein de l' Académie du Festival d'Aix en Provence (Voix et Artistes Relais) soutenues par les réseaux ENOA (European Network of Opera Academies) et MEDINEA (MEDiterranean INcubator of Emerging Artists). Elle reçoit le Prix du Jeune Espoir Irène Jaumillot au Concours International de Chant de Béziers en 2007. Lauréate la même année du CNIPAL à Marseille (stage court pour jeunes chanteurs), elle est également Finaliste du Concours International de Chant Nei Stëmmen au Luxembourg en 2012.
Marine Costa fait ses débuts professionnels en interprétant le rôle de Martine (Le Médecin Malgré Lui, Gounod) , Dritte Dame (La Flûte Enchantée), La Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così Fan Tutte). Elle incarne également Silvia dans La Fée, opéra contemporain de Dominique Spagnolo et se produit en concerts avec le Quatuor Hermarque au Festival de Musique des Chapelles.
En 2015 et 2016, elle intègre le Lyric Opera Studio Weimar en Allemagne. Elle y interprète Papagena (La Flûte Enchantée) et à nouveau Fiordiligi, et se produit en concerts avec l'orchestre symphonique Saalfeld-Rudolstadt. En France, elle chante Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) en version concert, puis Suzanne (Un Mari à la Porte, Offenbach), Marinette (La Diletante d'Avignon, Halevy) et Lucile (La Devineresse, de Lajarte) au Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne. En 2019, la soprano intègre la Résidence Voix Opéra De-Ci De-Là au Festival d'Aix en Provence. Elle interprète Ginette dans la création Accent au Festival Aix en Juin et Pénélope dans le spectacle lyrique, nominé aux P'tits Molières, Opéra'phone, au Théâtre des Corps Saints au festival Avignon Off. Elle se produit également en récital au festival Les Rencontres de Calenzana.
Après la crise de la Covid-19, en 2021, Marine Costa retrouve la scène et fait notamment ses débuts de jeune soprano dramatique dans le rôle de Santuzza dans Cavalleria Rusticana de Mascagni, dont elle signe également la mise en scène et la direction artistique, aux Rencontres Musicales de Calenzana et au couvent de Cervioni.
Elle fonde la même année l'association Art'eCultura ainsi que l'Académie Lyrique du même nom, dont elle est à la fois directrice générale et professeur d'Art Lyrique.
Par ailleurs, Marine Costa s'implique dans des actions visant à partager l'opéra auprès de publics différents et en dehors des lieux traditionnels, notamment avec l'association Music'OSéniors (MOS) dédiée aux personnes autistes ou atteintes de la maladie d'Alzheimer. Elle a fait l'objet d'un reportage sur son engagement dans l'émission Extra-Ordinaires par FranceTV Slash et a été invitée à rédiger un article pour Opéra Magazine (décembre 2018).
Depuis 2023, elle démarre une nouvelle collaboration avec le Festival d'Aix en Provence pour qui elle créé et mène des ateliers de sensibilisation à l'opéra en direction d'un public très varié.
Cette saison, elle se produira également en concerts pour le Festival accompagnée du pianiste et chef d'orchestre Frédéric Isoletta.
